Rarely does Rowell look to investigate the use of lighter tones in his artwork, due to its ability to overpower. The purposeful composition means the artwork leave the viewer continually looking at corners of the work and therefore a continual cycle is created throughout. It is only upon closer glance does the viewer notice the minute detail taken into account with the fluctuating wash of colour in the background.
