Oil Paint, Metal Paint & Emulsion on Canvas
24cm x 24cm

The bold use of black metal paint is questioned once more in Rowell's work, this time with a focus upon its ability to work against opposing colours. This is explored not only in the direction of the shapes but also through the selective vibrancy within the colours used. The work in question is given a varnished wooden frame in order to make sure the viewer is given a complimentary structure to the red applied.
